Roc Vannin During December 2020

Roc Vannin Choir were pleased and honoured to have been asked to take part in this amazing ad promoting local businesses.  Not only at Christmas but beyond!!!  Please click on the following link:

We are so lucky here in the Isle of Man to have so many wonderful, talented, hard-working people - who spend their days opening their shops and services to us all. This year, more than most, they need our support.  SO SPREAD A LITTLE LOVE THIS CHRISTMAS - SHOP LOCAL!!!

Roc Vannin During Lockdown

Roc Vannin like the rest of the Island had to isolate themselves during the worst of Covid 19 and we were unable to meet for our usual rehearsals or to take part in any of our planned performances.  Whilst we were unable to meet, our members were very keen to keep up our interaction with the local community.

Roc Vannin, since our inception, has always raised money for local charities, so we figured that this should continue especially during that difficult time.  Although unable to perform and collect donations, our members being the lovely people that they are, unanimously decided to continue paying their subs, on the condition that the money collected should go to local charities to help them out during this most challenging time.

We looked at local charities which we thought might be struggling and would benefit the most and after such careful consideration we sent donations of £1000 to each of the following with the hope that our donations will in some small way, assist them all in their valuable work:

The IOM Foodbank

Cruse Bereavement Care

Housing Matters

We also provided some tasty treats for the staff in the Blood Bank and Outpatients.  Thanks to The Nutty Chef Cafe Onchan and Robinsons for supplying the treats.

Since lockdown we are not back rehearsing, following the correct guidelines of course and we have some events up and coming.  Keep an eye out on our events page for more details.
